The idea of buying local is not limited to food. There are super-talented British designers hard at work producing wonderful interior products and I hope to bring a few of them to your attention over the next few months.
To kick us off, let me introduce Rapture and Wright……
Since 2002, Rebecca Aird and Peter Thwaites have been designing and hand printing their fabrics and wallpapers on a simple ten metre table that they built for themselves in a farmyard barn in Evenloade, Gloucestershire.
The philosophy behind Rapture and Wright is to be 100% British. The cloth is woven in the UK. Designs are conceived and hand printed in the studio, using skills that are rapidly disappearing among British furnishing fabric manufacturers.
Rapture and Wright produce a range of prints and weaves suitable as both upholstery fabric and curtain fabric. Their collections embrace pattern and colour, and work in traditional and contemporary schemes.
At Mary Ward Interiors we have sampling of the entire collection which consists of over 22 fabric designs in many colours.
